Small Business Forum - "Advocating for Small Business"
On March 17, 2011 there will be a Small Business Forum at the SMC Business Council's Western PA (Churchill) office. Each Small Business Forum is an open forum with representatives from small businesses, industries, and the Government that allows us to exchange ideas, gather information about emerging issues, and maintain a dialogue with each other. In doing so, the goal is to reduce taxpayer burden and increase compliance for members of your business.
This year's them is "Advocating for Small Business". David Wilke, Managing Partner at Wilke & Associates, is scheduled to speak on behalf of small businesses, sharing current tax news affecting small businesses.

"Hole in One": The 14th Annual Pennsylvania Convention & Trade Fair
Members of Wilke & Associates, LLP will again be attending this year's ACRE convention, a venue which provides the opportunity for business professionals to promote their business to hundreds of potential clients. This year's conference is scheduled for March 18-20 at the Radisson Hotel in Greentree, PA. Big Idea Networking and Awards Event
On March 30, 2011, Wilke & Associates will be a sponsor of the Big Idea Networking and Awards Event as hosted by the Institute for Entrepreneurial Excellence at the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business and the College of Business Administration at the University of Pittsburgh. David Wilke will once again participate on the judging panel as well as provide one of the winners with 10 hours of accounting service and participation on his radio show.
A total of 199 undergraduate and graduate students from across the University of Pittsburgh entererd this year's Big Idea Competition. This experience-based learning opportunity allows students to transform their ideas for growing their existing ventures and start new companies in western Pennsylvania.

8th Annual Best Practices and Great Ideas Conference
The 8th Annual Best Practices and Great Ideas in the Career College and School sector will take place April 20-21, 201 at Station Square in Pittsburgh, PA. This year's sponsors are The Pacific Institute, Cambria-Rowe Business College, and New Castle School of Trades. The conference brings together campuses from across the country and internationally, representing over 80,000 students. Staff members from Wilke & Associates will participate in this year's event.
